What to Expect From Your Video Survey
Nervous about your first virtual moving survey? Fear not, follow these tips in order to ensure your video survey is a quick and painless process.
Getting prepared for the call…
Prior to your video survey consultation, ensure that you have a fully charged phone, flashlight and a tape measure.
Additionally, having a tidy home will not only allow for an easier time when the movers pack and load the truck, but it will also allow for the survey team to attain a more accurate virtual moving estimate.
During the call…
At the designated date and time of your video survey you will receive a link via text to access the video survey platform. Follow the link and it will connect you with your video surveyor. The surveyor will ask you some preliminary questions and then instruct you to walk through the rooms in your house or apartment.
In order to gain the most accurate virtual moving estimate it is crucial to know what will be moving from the premises and communicate it clearly to your surveyor.
Feel free to ask any questions of the video survey team throughout the duration of the video survey. While the survey team may not be able to answer all your questions, they can direct you to where to find the answers or have someone reach out directly.
What is the point of a video survey?
The purpose of a video survey is to gain an idea of what will be moved. The video surveyor is looking for a general weight and an idea for the number of boxes required for the shipment.
A member of the survey team will ask you for dimensions on some items and some general questions on specific items.
Keep in mind the video surveyor does not need to see specific items, but rather a simple overview of what will be taken in the shipment.
