Euless History

Euless was established in 1867 by Elisha Adam Euless, who relocated to Texas from his native Tennessee. Euless purchased 170 acres of land upon arrival, which he used to create a cotton gin and a community center. Euless’ community-centric attitude attracted more settlers, who eventually named the town “Euless” in his honor. Euless was officially incorporated in 1953. Over time, its population has grown from 25 (1915) to over 54,000 (2008). City officials have worked to preserve its history, including the Fuller House, which was the first brick house in the city, and the Himes Log House, which is a log cabin that was built in the 1850s.
